The client (international coffee company) had multiple systems that they needed to merge in order to manage inventory. Consumer Packaged Goods, Licensed Stores and Food Service Channels had to be more easily accessible and a more user-friendly interface needed to be created.
An international coffee company had an antiquated process in pulling up data for their inventory. Consumer Packaged Goods, Licensed Stores and Food Service Channels needed to be more easily accessible and a more user-friendly interface needed to be created.
Their inventory readout was in the format of a long spreadsheet (which is intentionally blurry).
The client, our team (developers, PM's and UX) met to discuss the problem and to group the Information Architecture and agree on a direction and document on a white board.
After the meeting, I formalized the flow to reflect our initial conversation. Each screen in the flow had:
• A list of items that would live on each page.
• Show databases that were called or written to.
We designed a dashboard so that the inventory could be viewed at a higher level with notification capabilities.
An inventory list was also designed with filters to make it easier to customize the list view..
We designed a page template for each product with customizable attribute fields and drop downs to provide an easy, intuitive way to edit each product.
